    Uproar in MCD House over Delhi water crisis

    The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) House meeting on Thursday saw protests by BJP and Congress MLAs over a water crisis in Delhi. The proceedings, delayed by an hour, began at 11.55 am. Soon after, opposition councillors entered the well of the House, raising slogans against the AAP government led by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. BJP councillors were seen carrying earthen pots and chanting "Jai Shree Ram" and "Bharat Mata Ki Jai."

    State Election Commissioner (SEC) T. John Longkumer reported that no votes were cast in the six eastern Nagaland districts due to the boycott call by the ENPO. Longkumer stated, "Earlier 79 candidates from these six districts filed their nominations, but they later withdrew their candidatures. No candidate is contesting in the town councils in eastern Nagaland, where ENPO gave a vote boycott call in support of their statehood demand for 'Frontier Nagaland Territory'."

      Delhi: MCD mayoral polls postponed

      Polls to elect the new mayor and deputy mayor of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi that were slated for April 26 stands postponed amid the non-appointment of a presiding officer, an official order said on Thursday. The civic body postponed the mayoral polls after the Raj Niwas issued a letter on behalf of Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, stating that he "does not deem it appropriate to exercise his power as administrator to appoint the presiding officer in absence of the inputs from chief minister".
