    Apologise to people and get CM, Ajit Pawar to do the same, Cong's Patole tells BJP on contract recruitment

    The Maharashtra Congress president, Nana Patole, has called on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to apologize for the injustice caused to the youth through contract recruitment. He criticized the BJP for holding fake protests on the issue and accused them of depriving the youth of jobs. Patole alleged that the BJP and former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis were behind various recruitment scams and the exodus of industries from the state. He also claimed that the BJP's attempts to blame others for the issue of contract recruitment were misleading.

    Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that government order meant for recruiting staff on a contract basis has been scrapped. He blamed the previous Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government for taking a decision to hire workforce this way.

    The Maharashtra government has issues notification to change the names of Aurangabad and Osmanabad districts to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Dharashiv respectively. The decision to rename these districts was made in the previous government's last cabinet meeting by the then chief minister Uddhav Thackeray on June 29, 2022 just before he resigned.

    MVA leaders, including Uddhav Thackeray of Shiv Sena (UBT) and state Congress chief Nana Patole, attended the meeting. "Like Karnataka, I am sure the MVA will win the people's trust in Maharashtra and will work with more strength," Patil said. He said MVA leaders have decided to hold talks with other small parties and are hopeful of presenting a united opposition to the current dispensation in the country in 2024.

    Addressing a meeting of the party workers in North Mumbai, Thackeray said the flaming torch (Mashaal) symbol allotted to Shiv Sena (UBT) is the only light that will brighten the darkness caused by the betrayal and back-stabbing. He said the rebel MLAs led by Shinde had done the "dirty work" of toppling a government which had done good work of tackling the COVID-19 pandemic and alleviating hardships of farmers affected by the cyclone and unseasonably rains when in power.

    Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader Sanjay Raut on Sunday claimed a "deal of Rs 2000 crore" has taken place so far to "purchase" the Shiv Sena party name and its 'bow and arrow' symbol. However, MLA Sada Sarvankar from the camp led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde dismissed the claim and asked, "Is Sanjay Raut a cashier?"
