DRPPL says Dharavi redevelopment project awarded by previous MVA govt in open bidding
Dharavi Redevelopment Project on Saturday said the Dharavi slum redevelopment project was awarded to it by the previous Congress-Shiv Sena coalition government (Maha Vikas Aghadi or MVA) through a fair and open international bidding. In a statement, a spokesperson of Adani's Dharavi Redevelopment Project Pvt Ltd (DRPPL) said financial conditions, including the obligations and incentives, were known to all bidders and had not changed for the awardee.

Eknath Shinde govt favouring Adani in Dharavi project, says Varsha Gaikwad; cites doubling of saleable area
Speaking in the Assembly, Gaikwad, the MLA from Dharavi, said the saleable area in the project had doubled after the billionaire industrialist's group firm got the rights to execute the project. Raising the issue under Rule 293, Gaikwad said, "Dharavi slum has an area of 160 hectares. After redevelopment the saleable area will be 10.5 crore square feet. In 2018, when Devendra Fadnavis was Maharashtra chief, the builder who carries out the redevelopment was supposed to get just 5 crore square feet."
Maharashtra cancels MVA govt's contract labour policy
Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis on Friday said the government would scrap the previous government's policy to empanel nine agencies that would provide employees to the state government on contractual basis. "I have spoken to CM Eknath Shinde and deputy CM Ajit Pawar and have told them that we should scrap the move. We are being slammed by the opposition for hiring people on contract when actually the policy was brought in by the earlier governments," said Fadnavis.
