    Narco-terror module busted in J-K's Kupwara, 3 held

    Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district arrested three individuals in connection with a narco-terror module, seizing arms, ammunition, and contraband. Acting on a tip, police and army personnel apprehended suspects involved in heroin trafficking. Two individuals were caught in possession of 500 grams of heroin, while a third was found with three pistols, ammunition, and explosives. Ongoing investigations are underway following the arrests.

    Singh said the attempts to revive militancy in the border districts of Rajouri and Poonch and adjoining Reasi was scuttled to a large extent by the security forces through various successful operations, while attempts are on to neutralize those who have managed to infiltrate into this side. "We have had back to back successful operations in Reasi and Rajouri in the recent past, resulting in the killing of (several) terrorists," he said.

    NIA attaches house of two brothers in Pakistan sponsored narco terror case in Punjab

    The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has attached, under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), a house of two brothers in Amritsar district of Punjab, who were arrested in a Pakistan-sponsored narco-terror case. The residential property of Bikramjit Singh alias Vicky and his brother Maninder Singh alias Mani has been designated as "proceeds of terrorism" by the agency.

    Narco-terror modules busted in Rajouri-Poonch, 44 kg of heroine seized

    A major narco-militant module was busted in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri-Poonch area this month, leading to the arrest of eight people and the recovery of 44 kg of heroin and weapons. Army and police officials have expressed concern over the organized nature of such modules and their ability to transport contraband to other states.

    The deradicalisation cell primarily deals with de-radicalisation of individuals identified on social media platforms and WhatsApp groups, involved in circulating the radical agenda by closely scrutinising their activities after a pre-verification. Over 4,000 individuals were verified on social media between 2019-21.

    "Pakistan and its agencies are pushing drugs here to generate funds for terror activities. J&K police, along with other agencies, are efficiently busting their nefarious activities. The situation on the borders has improved and we are witnessing improving peace in the UT," said Jammu and Kashmir Police chief Dilbag Singh.
