    PJTL lenders agree for Rs 1,020 crore one-time settlement

    Lenders of Panipat Jalandhar NH 1 Tollway (PJTL) have agreed to a one-time settlement on Rs 3400 crore dues, accepting a Rs 1,020-crore all-cash offer from promoters Roadis Group and Soma Enterprises. The settlement, impacted by farmers' agitation, is subject to approval by all ten lenders in the consortium. SBI is the largest creditor.

      Bengaluru-Salem NH Accident: Car bursts into flames and breaks in half in truck pile-up, four charred to death

      A car and a truck were involved in a tragic accident on the Bengaluru-Salem National Highway. The collision resulted in the death of four individuals, including two women.       Union Road Transport and Highways minister Nitin Gadkari said budgetary allocation of the road ministry has increased from about Rs 31,130 crore in 2013-14 to Rs 2,70,435 crore in 2023-24. Such increased budgetary allocation led to expansion of the National Highway (NH) network in the country from about 91,287 km in March 2014 to about 1,46,145 km at present, Gadkari added.
