First to indicate good or bad about economy, as it stays strong, ignore noises about politics: 6 auto stocks with upside potential of upto 34 %

Unlike the US and some other western countries, where there is a separate transportation index which also has an element of logistic companies in it and is watched very closely, in India we don't have a very popular transportation index. The reason why transportation index numbers are extremely important is because there is enough historical evidence to show that auto industry numbers lead indicators of what is happening in the economy. That is why if one looks at the history of the stock market, the rallies which are led by the transportation and auto sector are more durable rallies. Especially the ones which are led by large commercial vehicles. Demand for large commercial vehicles would only increase when there is higher economic growth as more goods get moved from one place to another when the economy is doing well. At this point and in near term there will be noises about political instability, but better ignore it.

Smartwatch companies turn to premium buyers looking for upgrade

Leading smartwatch brands like Noise, Boult, and Boat are targeting repeat buyers with premium hardware to increase average selling prices and improve profitability amid declining shipments and intense competition. They are using their own processors, high-end materials, and aesthetic enhancements, while aggressively expanding into offline retail channels. This shift follows a 7.3% drop in Q1 2024 shipments and a fall in ASP to $20.65. The focus is now on offering premium products with better features to attract discerning consumers.

Political noise is temporary in the end it's about GDP growth; 6 logistics companies with upside potential of up to 39%

It will take some more time for the street to get out of the political noise and analysis and stocks may witness some more correction. But these are all short term issues, in the end markets are keen about two things, overall economic growth and earnings of the company. In the recent political noise what has been probably getting missed is the fact that GDP numbers were better than expected. It is very likely that we are going to see continued growth in the GDP numbers, yes, there would be voices which would say that focus consumption would increase and all other things, but in the end the biggest beneficiary of the continued higher growth is the logistics sector. The reason is simple, if the economy is doing well, more goods will be produced and they will have to be transported and that is why in large developed economies, logistic companies form part of a very important transportation index. Also another big factor, these companies have gone through a restructuring and have come out after facing many challenges.

    • As fundamentals stay strong, ignore short-term noises: Banking stocks with upside potential of more than 18%

In the last four trading sessions, two private sector banks have seen significant development both related to their shareholding. First is the case where the news came out that FII’s have reduced their holding and in another case a private equity investor sold its stake through a block deal. After both announcements, the stock prices moved up sharply. A number of times in stocks, where there is big institutional holding, there are phases, where it is more of technical reason which keeps the performance down. Now, surprisingly, it is during this period that PSU banks stocks which have been doing extremely well for the last couple of quarters, witnessed some profit booking. In case there are a few more trading sessions where banks see a divergence in performance, one cannot rule that a narrative might come on the street, about how private sector banks are better than PSU banks. It would be better to ignore those noises.
