Dibrugarh jail's superintendent arrested under UAPA
Assam Police have arrested Nipen Das, superintendent of Dibrugarh Central Jail, in connection with objectionable material found in the cell of Amritpal Singh, chief of Waris Punjab De, and his nine associates who are lodged in the jail. The arrests were made under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Assam Prisons Act. Objectionable material, including mobile phones and spy cameras, were recovered from the jail. The Punjab Police and Punjab government were informed about the unauthorized activities inside the NSA cell at Dibrugarh Jail. Further investigation is ongoing to determine the source of these items and to prevent recurrence.

Unauthorized activities were detected in the NSA cell at Dibrugarh Jail, Assam, resulting in the recovery of numerous unauthorized items. The source of these items is currently under investigation. Additional CCTV cameras were installed in the public area of the NSA Block.

He is working for his community and very soon he will be out of jail because there is no case against him.”
