Max Healthcare Q3 Results: Net profit zooms 26% YoY to Rs 338 crore

Auto sales skid amid shift to new emission norms
Vehicle registrations fell 4% to 1.72 million units YoY in April 2021 as pre-buying in March ahead of expected price rises, and the implementation of the second phase of BSVI emission norms and untimely rains impacted sales. Sales in the two-wheeler segment declined 7.3% to 1.23 million units, and sales of passenger vehicles fell 1.35% to 282,674 units.
Vehicle registrations declines by 4% in April
Vehicle registrations in India declined by 4% to 1,724,935 units in April, with retail sales of two-wheelers down 7.3% and of passenger vehicles down 1.35%. According to data from the Federation of Automotive Dealers Associations (FADA), the decline was due to the shift to BSVI norms, untimely rains and advanced purchases in March ahead of an anticipated price rise. FADA has urged the country's GST Council to reduce GST on two-wheelers from 28% to 18% to revive demand.
Total vehicle retails dip 4% in April; 2-wheelers continue to struggle: FADA
The total vehicle retails in the month of April saw a decline of 4% with two-wheelers and passenger vehicles exhibiting a decline of 7% and 1% each, Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) data showed. Unfavourable weather conditions in April, including untimely rains and hailstorms, cause crop damage in several states, exacerbating farmer concerns and potentially impacting entry-level 2-wheeler and passenger car sales, FADA opined.
