Sikkim CM Prem Singh Tamang relinquishes Soreng Chakung seat
Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang has relinquished his seat in the Soreng Chakung constituency, as per election rules. He has retained the Rhenock constituency and stated that one of the two constituencies must be relinquished within 14 days of the election results declaration. The Soreng Chakung seat will now remain vacant for by-elections. Tamang made the announcement on social media, apologizing to the people of Soreng Chakung and promising to remain committed to serving as their MLA. With Tamang relinquishing the seat, the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha party's seat count will drop to 29 assembly seats.
