    PM Modi to visit Russia, Austria on July 8-10

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Russia and Austria from July 8-10, 2024, the foreign ministry announced. During his visit, Modi will be in Moscow on July 8-9 to attend the 22nd India-Russia Annual Summit at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin. "The leaders will review the entire range of multifaceted relations between the two countries and exchange views on contemporary regional and global issues of mutual interest," the statement from the ministry said.

    Modi is scheduled to visit Moscow in the second week of July for the annual bilateral summit, which will focus on defence, energy, trade and connectivity partnership. The Russian foreign minister also batted for Russia-India-China (RIC) partnership. "Yevgeny Primakov promoted the idea of multipolarity and created the Russia-India-China troika. It does not meet often, but we are planning to hold an RIC conference. RIC is the progenitor of Brics... It was actually Yevgeny Primakov's idea that the Russia, India and China triangle should become the symbol of the multipolar world, and its core," he said.
