GRSE secures export order worth $54 mn from German co for commercial vessels
Defence PSU Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) Ltd has signed a $54 million contract with Germany-based shipping company Carsten Rehder Schiffsmakler und Reederei GmbH and Co. KG for the construction and delivery of four multi-purpose cargo vessels. The vessels, each 120 meters in length and 17 meters in width, will carry 7,500 metric tonnes of cargo.

The navy also assisted in the rescue of a hijacked Sri Lankan fishing vessel, supporting the Seychelles Defence Forces. INS Sumitra intercepted fishing vessel Al Naeemi after receiving a distress call about pirates off the Somalian coast. The warship disarmed 11 Somali pirates and rescued the fishermen. The actions will subdue piracy attempts in the Gulf of Aden.
BEL receives additional orders worth Rs 1034.31 crore
The Bengaluru-based company had also received an order worth Rs 339.31 crore, related to Combat Management System, Composite Communication System, Transmit / Receive Modules, Mobile Autonomous Stabilization System and other spares / services. Its cumulative orders are now up to Rs 27,647.31 crore for the current fiscal year 2023-24.
