Bhopal: Deputy chief minister Jagdish Devda, who holds the finance portfolio, has accepted there are irregularities in Jal Jeevan Mission.
“I am not denying that the work going on in Jal Jeevan Mission is not being done properly at many places. I am saying this here in the House, we will take action against those who are guilty and who are not working properly,” Devda said in his reply during discussions on the
state budget on Thursday.
Devda had presented the annual state budget of Rs 3,65,067 crore for the 2024-25 fiscal on Wednesday. Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar allowed general discussion on the budget at noon on Thursday after which MLAs from ruling BJP and opposition Congress kept their views on the budget.
Discussions went on without a break till 10pm and concluded with Devda’s statement. He spoke about Congress rule and charged the opposition for ‘not working for the development of the country and state’. Devda reiterated his major announcements in the Budget for every sector.
After Devda’s reply, the Speaker concluded the day-long discussion and adjourned the house till Friday.
