BHOPAL: Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of Maharashtra, entire Telangana and some more parts of Chhattisgarh on Wednesday. The northern limit of monsoon now passes through Navsari, Jalgaon, Amravati, Chandrapur, Bijapur, Sukma, Malkangiri, Vizianagaram, and Islampur. Conditions are favourable for further advance of the monsoon into some more parts of Odisha, coastal Andhra Pradesh & northwest Bay of Bengal during next 3-4 days, the meteorological dept stated on Wednesday.
However, for now, the cloud cover and winds failed to get respite from the sultry weather in Bhopal on Wednesday. Day as well as night temperatures remained above the normal mark. A warning of heat wave and thunder showers existed for different places in the state.
Officials of the meteorological department, Bhopal circle said, there was a cyclonic circulation over northwest Uttar Pradesh and another cyclonic circulation was over east Uttar Pradesh. Rain and thunder were expected in parts of the state including Vidisha, Raisen, Sehore, Bhopal, Rajgarh, Alirajpur, Jhabua, Dhar, Indore, Ratlam, Ujjain, Dewas, Shajapur, Agar Malwa, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Guna, Dindori, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Seoni, Mandla, Balaghat, Damoh, Sagar, Narmadapuram, Betul, Harda, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Khargone and Barwani districts.
Day temperature in Bhopal on Wednesday was recorded at 39.8 degrees Celsius, a degree more than normal mark, while night temperature was 27.1 degrees, a degree more than normal mark. Day temperature in Khajuraho was still high at 45.4 degrees.
In the forecast for Bhopal on Thursday, there would be partly cloudy sky with possibility of thunder and rain. Day and night temperature would be 39 and 27 degrees respectively.
For other parts of the state, the meteorological dept issued warning of heat wave for places including Singrauli, Sidhi, Rewa, Mauganj, Satna and Maihar dists. A warning of thunderclap and high velocity winds was issued for Narmadapuram, Betul, Harda, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Khargone, Barwani, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Seoni, Mandla and Balaghat districts.
