BHUBANESWAR: The question paper leak incident has created a political storm in the state. The opposition BJP has started attacking the state government for its alleged failure to maintain transparency in holding competitive examinations like JE (Civil) Main written test. BJD has also rapped the BJP for playing dirty politics over this issue.
BJP state president Manmohan Samal on Friday said that the CBI probe will give justice to the applicants of JE (Civil) Main examination.“The central investigation agency will expose everything related to the question paper leak and the big racket behind this,” he added.
BJP spokesperson Anil Biswal alleged that the ‘money for job’ racket has proved that the state government jobs are on sale. “Poor meritorious candidates are being cheated due to an unholy nexus between the fraudsters and government people. If the state government is concerned about the question paper leak incident, why is it not filing FIR against the printing press,” he added.
Biswal said police said the question paper was leaked from the printing press. “And the police did not speak anything regarding the involvement of Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) employees in this incident. But how did the fraudsters get phone numbers of so many candidates? It cannot be a mere coincidence. That means the truth may not come out if the Odisha Police conducts a probe in this matter. That’s why we demand a CBI probe into the incident,” he added.
He said the question paper leak incident has become a common thing in Odisha. “Previously, a staff of the OSSC was involved in a ‘money for job’ racket. It had created a hue and cry in the state. Now another incident happened in the OSSC. The corruption in the government recruitment process is the achievement of the BJD government,” he added.
BJD spokesperson Gautam Buddha Das said playing dirty politics in each issue is an old habit of BJP leaders. “This racket is also involved in the question paper leak incident in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Centre’s Staff Selection Commission. Investigation in this matter is underway. Why is the BJP so worried and impatient for this? Arresting 17 people including the mastermind is an achievement of Odisha Police,” he added.
