KARNAL: Two Karnal brothers, wanted in a fatal stabbing case in Melbourne on Sunday, have been arrested in New South Wales.
Victoria Police homicide detectives will travel to Goulburn where Abhijeet (26) and Robin Gartan(27) were arrested on Tuesday morning.
The brothers are expected to face court for an extradition hearing. Both the accused hail from Bastara village in Haryana’s Karnal.
The brothers were absconding since the early hours of Sunday, after a 22-year-old man, Navjeet Sandhu, was killed and a 30-year-old man, Sharvan Kumar, was injured at an Ormond home in Melbourne's southeast.

Sandhu from Gagsina village in Karnal was stabbed thrice in his chest leading to death in Melbourne on Sunday night. Navjeet left India for Australia on Nov 9, 2022, almost one and half years back on study basis. The deceased was an MTech student in Melbourne and was staying in Naval Park. The accused were also living in Melbourne. Sandhu’s family believes that their son was brutally attacked by the two brothers because of their “conflict with an acquaintance of their son”.
