₹5.31cr fine collected from traffic violators
Dibrugarh: Police have collected a whopping Rs 5,31,75,500 fine in the first four months of the year under the Motor Vehicles Act for traffic violations, a statement from Dibrugarh police said on Friday.
The total amount of fine collected in the same period in 2023 was Rs 72,96,700, a staggering increase of 628.76% compared to last year.
According to the data, fine collected in January 2023 was Rs 21,67,600, whereas in the same month of 2024 it increased to Rs 1,70,13,000.
One of the reasons for the increase can be attributed to the strict enforcement measures adopted by Dibrugarh Police.
