Heroin worth Rs 9.7 crore seized in Mizoram, 3 held

AIZAWL: Assam Rifles and state police arrested three people and confiscated heroin with a total value of Rs 9.7 crore in three distinct operations conducted in Mizoram's Champhai district.
The seizures took place on the night of May 30, as per an official statement released by Assam Rifles on Saturday.
The operations yielded varying quantities of heroin from different locations.In Melbuk village, authorities recovered 146 grams of the illicit drug. Another 22 grams were seized in Zote, while a significant amount of 1.2 kilograms was found along the Champhai-Aizawl road.
Three drug peddlers were arrested in the three seizure cases, the statement said.
The confiscated heroin, along with the three suspects, has been handed over to the state police authorities for further legal action, as stated in the official release.
