Tuition teacher tries to elope with minor girl, held

Kanpur: A case of religious conversion attempt has come to fore in Chaubepur police station area of the district, wherein a 35-year-old Muslim man lured a 15-year-old minor Hindu girl into relationship and forced her to change her religion and marry him.
The girl’s mother alleged that one Naushad of the area used to give tuition to her daughter and often took her to his house.On June 27 also he took her daughter to his home and tried to elope with her. She said that she then informed the Bajrang Dal activists and the police. Bajrang Dal workers thereafter nabbed both of them from near Kalyanpur railway station and handed them over to Kalyanpur police. ACP Bilhaur Ajay Trivedi reached the spot and assured protesters of strict action against the accused tuition teacher. “A case against the tuition teacher has been registered under relevant IPC sections and Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act and he was arrested on Friday. Further investigations are underway,” said Trivedi further. tnn
