25-year-old man beaten up by girlfriend’s relatives in Shamli, dies

Shamli: Sawan Kumar, a 25-year-old resident of Laprana village in Shamli district, succumbed to injuries while receiving treatment at Meerut Medical. His family said he was in a relationship with a girl, and alleged that her relatives had thrashed him brutally.
SP Shamli Abhishek (goes by his first name) said, “We arrested three accused in this case on Wednesday, and two minors are currently in custody.

The iron rods and sticks used were recovered, and the charge of murder added to the previously filed case.”
Sawan’s mother, Shakuntala Devi, said that on June 20, the girl’s father and his associates kidnapped Sawan and held him captive through the night at a house in Shamli’s Nanduprasad locality. On June 22, she filed a case against five named accused, including the girl’s father, and six unidentified persons under various sections of IPC. Sachin Sharma
