Thackeray Sena keen to contest 8 out of 10 Lok Sabha seats in MMR

MUMBAI: The Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena is keen to contest 8 out of the 10 Lok Sabha constituencies in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region with some ‘give and take’ in the next elections, sources said on Tuesday.
Thackeray has been holding consultations with party workers and leaders for the last few days. On Tuesday, he met office-bearers from the Mumbai North East and Mumbai North LS constituencies.The Sena (undivided) had won three of the total six LS constituencies in Mumbai in 2019 when it contested in alliance with BJP.

Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson Nitesh Rane plans to file a breach of privilege motion against Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut and MLC Anil Parab for allegedly pressuring the legislative assembly Speaker.
Tamil Nadu BJP office-bearers to meet on October 3
The BJP state unit in Tamil Nadu has called a meeting to discuss the situation after the AIADMK walked out of the NDA alliance. The party is also in talks with other potential allies. The BJP national leadership is still assessing the situation and has issued a gag order on alliance matters. The meeting will focus on strengthening booth committees and the possibility of forming new alliances. However, the AIADMK leaders have stated that their decision to leave the alliance is final.
