4 criminals arrested

PATNA: Patna police on Wednesday arrested four hardcore criminals from city’s Kankerbagh locality while they were planning to execute major crime in the area. All the four were carrying arms when they were arrested.
After being tipped-off that some criminals had assembled near Kathpulwa bridge under Kankerbagh police station, a special cell was formed, led by City SP Manu Maharaj with another raiding team consisting of Kankerbagh police.Both the teams jointly raided the place and arrested all the four on the spot. The police recovered five pistols and 17 live cartridges from them.
Maharaj said all the four are active members of the notorious Bablu Yadav gang under Fatuha police station. Yadav is involved in about a dozen cases of loot, dacoity and murder, the SP said.
The arrested criminals have been identified as Sunny Thakur, Ranjeet Kumar, Pappu Kumar and Babloo Kumar. All of them have criminal antecedents. Investigation is on.
