Howrah is a parliamentary constituency in West Bengal. In 2019, it had 1,633,925 electors, with 1,222,293 valid votes. Prasun Banerjee of the All India Trinamool Congress won with 576,711 votes, defeating Bharatiya Janata Party's Rantidev Sengupta by 103,695 votes. In 2014, Banerjee secured victory with 488,461 votes, surpassing Communist Party Of India (Marxist) candidate Sridip Bhattacharya by 196,956 votes, amidst 1,505,099 electors and 1,125,399 valid votes.
