PULWAMA: National Conference president Farooq Abdullah held a roadshow in the Kakapora area of Pulwama district on Saturday and exuded confidence in his party's win in the constituency, adding that the government will be changed in Delhi.
Abdullah was seen doing a road show with his supporters, who accompanied him in large numbers. Abdullah shook hands with locals and interacted with them.
"The National Conference will win. INDIA alliance will be successful in the country and the government in Delhi will be changed," said Abdullah while talking to ANI.
Notably, Pulwama is part of the Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha seat and Mian Altaf from National Conference is contesting from the seat.
The seat is considered a high-profile seat as People's Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti is contesting it. The seat is witnessing a triangular fight as the Apni Party's Zaffar Iqbal Manhas is also contesting from the seat.
Pulwama, as part of the Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha seat, will go into polls on May 13 in the fourth phase.
Earlier, while addressing a rally at Rawalpora in Srinagar on May 5 Farooq Abdullah launched an all-out attack on the
BJP, reminding how the "mosques were razed, madrassas were bull-dozed and innocent people were allegedly lynched for eating beef".
Calling the people, it the "time for sacrifice," the National Conference veteran asked the members of the gathering to pray to God to cause their (BJP) downfall, who are attempting to rewrite the Constitution.
"This is the time for sacrifice. Today, it is your test. Wake up. Pray to God. That the INDIA alliance should win the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. May God cause his downfall (BJP) and the country will be saved. Pray for all those who are caught in a big storm. You must have seen how the mosques were knocked down. Madrassa were bulldozed," Farooq, the former Union minister, said Abdullah.
"Innocent people were lynched for eating beef. Today, they (BJP) are saying, 'We will tell you what to eat, how you will dress, and where you will go'. We will not accept it .We are free people," he added.
