Cycling allows me to connect with nature: Tarika Tripathi
Tarika Tripathi loves cycling amidst nature
Cycling is more than just an exercise for me,” says Tarika Tripathi, who joined us for a bicycle ride at the riverfront to celebrate World Bicycle Day. The Dukaan actress says, “I have been cycling since childhood and it is a beautiful sport. While cycling in the gym is fine, cycling in the open allows me to connect with nature. It also offers a welcome break from monotony.I enjoy some quality me time during bicycle rides. It also allows me to introspect, something we miss out on due to our busy lives.”
‘Cycling can contribute towards saving the environment’

Tarika, who is also an environmentalist, adds, “The increasing pollution level is of great concern. Cycling for short distances is one way of doing our bit and contributing towards saving the environment.”
Talking about her childhood, Tarika shares, “Many students would commute to school by cycle and I told my parents that I wanted one. But within three days, I fell from the cycle and injured my back. My father immediately sold that cycle but bought me a new one a few years later.” She adds, “I used to go for short cycle rides with my friends during childhood. Today, all of us are back together in the city and we plan to cycle together again along the riverfront.”
‘Cycling is a great workout option’

Tarika says cycling is an important part of her fitness regimen. She shares, “I prefer cycling as a workout; it’s a great option. In our daily lives, we spend too much time at home or office, and usually travel in cars or bikes/scooters. Cycling exposes us to nature and helps us breathe fresh air. It’s also a fun group activity.”
