Mr. & Mrs. Mahi box office collection Day 13: Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer fails to cross Rs 1 crore mark for third day in a row

After having a fabulous first week, Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor’s Mr and Mrs Mahi has seemed to slow down at the box office, in the second week, especially during the weekdays. The film in its first week, earned Rs 24.45 crore, and also had a great second weekend where on Friday it earned Rs 1.3 crore, on Saturday it collected Rs 2.15 crore and Rs 2 crore on Sunday.

But as the film entered the weekdays, it began losing steam. On Monday, it earned Rs 85 lakh which was a 57 % fall in collection. On Tuesday, the film did see a spike to collect Rs 90 lakh, and on Wednesday, it again collected Rs 90 lakh as per early estimates by Sacnilk, thus taking the overall collection of the film to Rs 32.55 crore.
The film also marks one of the best periods of Rajkummar Rao’s career, making it two consecutive hits in the same month. His latest release Srikanth is still running at the box office, and has earned more than Rs 47 crore and is hoping to cross Rs 50 crore mark.
One of the reasons behind the slow speed of Mr and Mrs Mahi is the release of Abhay Verma, Sharvari and Mona Singh starrer Munjya which in 6 days has earned Rs 31.15 crore. The film which is based on a Maharashtrian folklore, has connected to the masses in a big way.
