Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD crosses Rs 300 crore in just 4 days in India, but fails to surpass Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan and SS Rajamouli’s RRR

There seems to be no stopping for Nag Ashwin’s mythological futuristic film Kalki 2898 AD starring Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas and Deepika Padukone in the lead. The film has set the box office on fire by crossing Rs 300 crore mark across languages in India in its 4 day extended weekend run.
The film opened to a massive Rs 95.3 crore with Rs 65 crore coming from the Telugu version.
On the second day, the film dropped a bit to collect Rs 57.6 crore. On Saturday, it saw a spike to mint Rs 64.5 crore, and on Sunday, the film went on a rampage to collect Rs 85 crore, as per early estimates by Sacnilk, the Hindi version added Rs 39 crore to the kitty. With this, the total collection of the film now stands at RS 302.
Kalki has gone on to beat the likes of Salaar Part 1 Ceasefire, which had earned Rs 209 crore over the weekend but failed when it came to numbers of Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan and SS Rajamouli’s RRR . While Jawan which released on the occasion of Janmashtami had a four day weekend, it minted Rs 341.3 while RRR in three days, earned Rs 323 crore.
It would be interesting to see where the Kalki mania takes the collections of the film over the course of the week. But the makers are now going to jump into the second part of the film which would see Ashwatthama ( Amitabh Bachchan) and Karan/ Bhairava ( Prabhas) teaming up to take on Supreme Yaskin ( Kamal Haasan).
The film has been receiving a lot of love form North America, as well where it has gone on to become the 8th highest grossing Indian film beating Salaar and Ranveer Singh- Alia Bhatt starrer Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.
