Amol Kale, Mumbai Cricket Association president, passed away after a cardiac arrest in New York at 47, after watching India’s victory over Pakistan in the T20 World Cup. His funeral on June 12 was attended by Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde, Salman Khan, and others. Kale was elected MCA president in October 2022.

In a tragic turn of events that cast a shadow over Mumbai cricket, Amol Kale, the president of the Mumbai Cricket Association, passed away from a cardiac arrest on Monday in New York, where he had traveled to attend the India versus Pakistan match in the 2024 T20 World Cup. Kale was 47 years old.
The previous day, he had watched India’s thrilling victory over Pakistan in the T20 World Cup at the stadium, accompanied by MCA secretary Ajinkya Naik and apex council member Suraj Samat.


At Amol Kale's funeral today, June 12, notable attendees included Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde, Salman Khan, Devendra Fadnavis, Ajinkya Rahane and several others, paying their respects to the late Mumbai Cricket Association president.

Kale was elected as the MCA president in October 2022, defeating India’s 1983 World Cup hero Sandeep Patil in a tightly contested election.
