Sandalwood gets a Hangover
From Gaalipatta, Huduguru to the upcoming Paraari and Nam Duniya Nam StyleSandalwood has been experimenting with the bromance formula. The next film in line is Goa. The film, we hear, will be inspired from the Tamil film Goa, which starred Premgi Amaren, Jai, Vaibhav Reddy, Piaa Bajpai, Sneha and Melanie James in lead roles. Produced by Shankar Gowda and Shankar Reddy and the film will be directed by Surya Gowda.
Goa will have Komal, Srikanth and Tarun Chandra in lead roles.
“We’ve retained the title, but it’s not a remake. Our film is inspired from the Hollywood film, The Hangover, which was also the inspiration for the Tamil film. We’ve made changes to the script to suit Kannada audiences,” says Shankar.
The film will also star a newbie actress from England, Rachel Wise, in a lead role, while talks are on with actresses Sharmila Mandre and Lakshmi Rai for the other two female lead roles.
“We will start shooting for the film by mid April in Bangalore, Goa, Srirangapatna and Mysore,” says Shankar, adding that his pal and Varadanayaka star Sudeep will launch the film as well as direct the first scene.
