Asif Ali and Biju Menon’s latest investigative drama, 'Thalavan,' has made a significant impact at the box office, crossing the Rs 11 crore mark in just 16 days. The film has captured the attention of audiences and critics alike, resulting in impressive box office numbers.

According to the Sacnilk website, 'Thalavan' performed exceptionally well during its first 15 days, accumulating an estimated Rs 10.59 crores net in India.
On its sixteenth day, the film continued its strong performance, earning around Rs 52 lakhs net in India. This brings the total box office collection to Rs 11.11 crores in 16 days from the Malayalam box office.

The movie’s occupancy rates have also been noteworthy, reflecting its popularity among viewers. On Saturday, June 08, 2024, 'Thalavan' had an overall Malayalam occupancy rate of 32.22%. The breakdown of the occupancy for Day 16 (Malayalam 2D) in theaters showed a steady increase throughout the day, with morning shows at 18.80%, afternoon shows at 23.29%, evening shows at 35.89%, and night shows peaking at 50.90%.
'Thalavan,' directed and co-scripted by Jis Joy, along with Sharath Perumbavoor and Anand Thevarkad, has been lauded for its gripping first half, which features several intriguing red herrings. The straightforward narrative initially hooks the audience with its compelling plot. However, the second half has received mixed reviews. The investigation takes a different turn, introducing new suspects and situations, which some viewers found confusing. Additionally, the climax has been criticized for being overly dramatic, resulting in a slightly uneven narrative flow.
