'Vaathi' box office collection day 4: Dhanush's bilingual film mints Rs. 51 crores; enters into a profit zone in Telugu states

Dhanush joined hands with director Venky Atluri for the bilingual drama 'Vaathi' and the Telugu version has been titled 'Sir'. The film is available for streaming in theatres from February 17 and it is continuing to get a positive response. Now, the latest report says that Dhanush's bilingual film has entered into a profit zone in Telugu states. The makers of 'Vaathi'/'Sir' have officially confirmed that the film has grossed over Rs.51 crores in three days jointly, and they declared the film a box office hit.
But the 'Vaathi' box office collection at the end of day 4 looks solid as the film has got almost 80% occupancy on Monday.
The worldwide collection of 'Vaathi'/'Sir' is estimated to be around Rs 63 crores globally at the end of day 4 and the film heads well across locations. The Telugu version has reportedly earned over Rs 20 crores while in Tamil Nadu, the film has reportedly earned almost 33 crores and will be entering into the profit zone in the home state as well.
Directed by Venky Atluri, 'Vaathi' aka 'Sir' features Dhanush and Samyuktha in lead roles as teachers. Samuthirakani plays the antagonist, while Tanikella Bharani, Sai Kumar, Aadukalam Naren, Sha Ra, and Illavarasu play crucial roles. GV Prakash Kumar scored the music, and his background score elevated the action scenes well. The story of the film is set in the early 1990s and Dhanush battles against the educational system to send a strong social message through the film.
