Director Pa Ranjith, who has completed 10 years in the film industry today, has kick-started his new production venture, which will be based on the game of cricket. Filmmaker Jaikumar, a former assistant director to Pa Ranjith is embarking on his directorial venture with this movie, which features Ashok Selvan, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, Prithvi Pandiarajan, Keerthi Pandian, Divya Duraisamy, and a few more prominent actors in the star cast.
Cinematographer Tamizh A Azhagan (of O2 and Thammam fame) is cranking the camera for this movie while Govind Vasantha (96 fame) is composing music. The screenplay and dialogues for this film will be written by Tamizh Prabha and Jaikumar. While Raghu will be the art director of this movie, the editing will be done by Selva RK of Sarpatta Parambarai fame.
The movie revolves around the emotional bonding for cricket that many possess across the cities and towns of Tamil Nadu and will also celebrate the essence of friendship with the perfect package of entertainment, read a press statement from the team.
The yet-to-be-titled film will be shot across and around the locales of Arakkonam.
Ranjith is currently awaiting the release of his next directorial, Natchathiram Nagargiradhu, which is slated to hit screens on August 31. The director will also be starting the shoot of his film with Vikram, which will be set in KGF of the 19th century, in September.
The filmmaker is also producing a couple more films, including the comedy drama J. Baby, starring Urvashi, Dinesh and Lollu Sabha Maaran, and the Yogi Babu-starrer Bommai Nayagi.
