Shanmuga Pandian to feature in an elephant-based action film
Vijayakant’s son Shanmuga Pandian, who was last seen in Madura Veeran, is all set to make a comeback with yet another action drama. Directed by U Anbu, the film will go on floors on July 16.
Says the director, “The film is a high-octane action entertainer set against the backdrop of the forest and elephants. It’s about the bonding between an elephant and a human, and the major conflict is based on a real incident that happened on the Orissa border.”
He clarifies that even though the film is centred around elephants, it will be different from films like Kumki. “Shanmuga Pandian will not be playing a mahout, but will be seen as a normal person who lives amidst nature,” he states.
He also adds that every scene in the film will feature minimum four to five elephants and major sequences will have 20 elephants. “We also have a huge team to take care of the CG works. The film will be shot in the interior forests of Orissa, Thailand and Kerala,” Anbu says.
Director Parthiban Desingu of Natpe Thunai fame has written the dialogues and screenplay for this untitled flick.
