Don't know who these guys are but hoping they will be known soon... Refreshing trailer (sic),' posted actor Nani recently on his microblogging site, sharing the link of the trailer of the film, Ila Naa Jathaga. The actor's whole hearted endorsement has catapulted the Hyderabad-based independent filmmaker, Yakub Ali into the limelight almost instantly. It took me three years to complete working on the film and it feels great to be finally applauded,' shares Yakub.
A dentist by profession Ali enrolled in a film school in the city to pursue his passion for filmmaking. Soon after completing the course he decided to turn director instead of working under other directors. 'I had this story in mind and I was very sure that no producer would be willing to fund it because everyone expects entertainment ' which is defined mostly by humour and comedy ' but my film doesn't have what they want. I didn't want to waste time and decided to go ahead on my own. And that's how I began working on this film in 2013,' shares Ali, who continued his dental practice while making the film.
'My friends from film school helped with cinematography and I did the editing on my own. The work never stopped at any point but it was a bit slow because a lot of things were happening at a go and I wasn't satisfied most of the time and I didn't compromise on the quality,' he adds, signing off.
