The 25th consecration anniversay of the Dhyanalinga
The 25th consecration anniversay of the Dhyanalinga at the Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore was celebrated with much fanfare on June 24. The festival featured mantra and chants from Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity, and Islamic Sufi hymns, dedicated to the occasion.
Dhyanalinga is a profound meditative space that does not subscribe to any particular belief or faith and requires no ritual, prayer, or worship.
A powerful and unique energy form, Dhyanalinga creates the possibility for every human being who comes within its sphere to experience life in its totality.
This year's consecration day celebrations began at the Dhyanalinga at 6 AM with the chanting of the "Aum Namah Shivaya" mantra by Isha Brahmacharis and Isha Brahmacharinis. This was followed by a powerful chanting of the 'Nirvana Shatakam,' composed by Adi Shankaracharya.
Next, Thevaram was performed by Mayilai Sathgurunathan, followed by the chanting of Buddhist mantras by monks from the 'Sera Mey' Buddhist monastery. Christian hymns were then performed by the FSPM Sisters from Coimbatore, and the Rudra-Samaka Veda Kosha was chanted by the Chidambaram Temple Deekshidars.
Additionally, Nada Aradhana, a musical offering conducted with only musical instruments, was presented, followed by Gurbani chants by Gurdwara Singh Sabha, Coimbatore and Sanskrit chants by students of Isha Samskriti. Special guests then dedicated Islamic songs.
Following this, the ashram residents presented Sufi hymns and "Sounds of Isha" tracks as devotional offerings. Later a Guru Pooja, a certain science of using chants and offerings to manifest a powerful experience in your living space, and a musical performance by the Gundecha brothers concluded this year's celebrations.
The Dhyanalinga at Isha was consecrated by Sadhguru on June 24, 1999, after about three years of intense spiritual processes.
