Rahul Mazumdar steps down from ‘Horogouri Pice Hotel’; Indrasish Roy to take the reins

Rahul Mazumdar is ready to bid adieu to his much-loved character Shankar. The actor is currently seen as the male protagonist of ‘Horogouri Pice Hotel’. But as the storyline is set to take a leap of 15 years, Rahul has decided to retire from his character. According to sources, Indrasish Roy is all set to step in as the new male protagonist on the popular Bengali television show.
‘Horogouri Pice Hotel’ is gearing up for a 15-year jump in its storyline. The Bengali soap that revolves around the lives of the lead pair Shankar and Oishani, is set to focus on their daughter Dhriti now. Shankar and Oishani’s daughter Dhriti grows up in these years and the mega serial will now be based on her journey. As Dhriti grows up in these 15 years, Shankar and Oishani both get older. Rahul is not ready to play an older character as of now. That is why the actor is moving on from playing Shankar. Rahul informed that he has already shot for his last episode on the show.

As per reports, Indrasish Roy, who is one of the most popular faces in the Bengali television industry, is set to take the reins of ‘Horogouri Pice Hotel’. He will be seen pairing up with none other than Subhosmita Mukherjee on the Bengali daily. Subhosmita, who plays the character of Oishani, now will be seen playing the character of Dhriti.
On the other hand, ‘Jol Thoi Thoi Bhalobasha’ is reportedly closing its curtains soon. The popular Bengali daily started its journey last September. Indrasish played the male lead on this Bengali television show opposite Anusha Viswanathan. ‘Jol Thoi Thoi Bhalobasha’ also stars popular faces like Aparajita Addhya, Reshmi Sen, Chandan Sen.
