Madhur Mittal and Mahima Nambiar starrer ‘800' set for its OTT premiere

The biographical sports film '800,' featuring Madhur Mittal and Mahima Nambiar, is set to make its debut on an OTT platform soon.

The film stars Madhur Mittal and Mahima Nambiar in the lead roles, with an ensemble cast including NNarain, King Ratnam, Nassar, Vadivukkarasi, Riythvika, Vela Ramamoorthy, Sharath Lohithaswam, Vinod Sagar, Hari Krishnan, Rithvik, Ananth Nag, Vinayak Venugopal, and Dileepan in supporting roles.
Written and directed by M.S. Sripathy, the film features music composed by Ghibran. Cinematography and editing are handled by R. D. Rajasekhar and Praveen K. L.,respectively.

'800' is based on the life of Muthiah Muralidaran, the cricket champion who set the record for taking 800 wickets in Test Cricket. The story captures the many facets of Muralidaran’s life – from being an oppressed Tamil to facing allegations of chucking, and ultimately becoming one of the greatest cricketers in history.

The film reveals how Murali finds solace in cricket, stands up to bullies, and transforms from an excitable pace bowler into the highest wicket-taker in cricket’s history. It also delves into the issue of nationality versus humanity, as Murali, being an ethnic Tamil, has to prove his commitment to the Sri Lankan team and fans. The movie provides insight into the tumultuous period surrounding his 'controversial' bowling action and how it briefly derailed his cricket career.
