CSM Kimberly N. Nieves is a native of Fayetteville, NC. She enlisted in the United States Army in August 2000 as a 42E. She completed Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina and Advanced Individual Training at the Naval Ophthalmic Support and Training Activity (NOSTRA) in Yorktown, VA.

CSM Nieves previously served as the Human Resources Command (HRC), Sergeant Major Management Branch (SMMD), 68 CMF Talent Manager. Her previous leadership and staff positions include Force Health Protection Sergeant Major, First Sergeant, Emergency Room Department Noncommissioned Officer in Charge, Sexual Assault Response Coordinator, Detachment Sergeant, Sr Optical Lab NCO, Platoon Sergeant, Senior Drill Sergeant, and Optometry Clinic Noncommissioned Officer in Charge. 

CSM Nieves’ stateside assignments includes: Human Resources Command, Fort Knox, Kentucky, Brooke Army Medical Center, Joint Base San Antonio, Texas, 1st-79th Field Artillery Battalion, Fort Sill, Oklahoma, Tripler Army Medical Center, Honolulu, Hawaii, 62nd Medical Brigade, Joint Base Lewis McChord, Washington, and the United States Army Sergeants Major Course, Fort Bliss, Texas. Her overseas assignments include 563rd Medical Logistics Company, 65th Medical Brigade, Camp Carroll, Korea, and Charlie Company, 702nd Main Support Battalion, Camp Casey, Korea. Her deployments include 250th Forward Resuscitative Surgical Team Operation Enduring Freedom, Transition I.

Her military education includes: Division Surgeon Cell, Sergeants Major Course Class 70 (Resident), Battle Staff, Company Commander and First Sergeant Course, Senior Leader Course (Commandant’s List), Advanced Leaders Course (Commandant’s List) and Basic Leaders Course, Master Fitness Trainer, Sexual Harassment/ Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) Course, Combative Level 1 and 2, Equal Opportunity Leaders Course, Unit Armorer Course, United States Army Drill Sergeant School (Leadership Awardee), Common Faculty Development-Instructor Course (CFD-IC), Army Retention Course, Combat Lifesaver Course Pregnancy and Postpartum Program Leader Course and the Unit Prevention Leader Course. 

CSM Nieves’ civilian education includes an Associate of Applied Science, Wayland Baptist University, and Bachelor of Science in Occupational Education, Wayland Baptist University. She is currently a student with Troy University working towards a Master of Science in Management with a concentration in Project Management.

Her awards and decorations include: Meritorious Service Medal (4 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (1 SLC, 1 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (2 SLC, 2 OLC), Joint Meritorious Unit, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Superior Unit Award, Army Good Conduct Medal (Silver, 2 Knots), National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal (1 Star), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 5), Overseas Service ribbon (Numeral 4), NATO Medal, the Drill Sergeant Identification Badge, and the Norwegian Foot March Badge (Bronze). CSM Nieves is a member of the prestigious Sergeant Audie L. Murphy Club, and a recipient of the Order of Military Medical Merit.
