Regulatory Framework - Wholesale Price Regulation

​Hydro Tasmania is required, under the Electricity Supply lndustry Act 1995 (ESI Act), to offer a range of regulated electricity contracts to authorised retailers operating in Tasmania.

Since 1 January 2014, the Regulator has been responsible, under the ESI Act, for regulating some of Hydro Tasmania's wholesale contract activities.

Frequency Control Ancillary Services

The Regulator has in the past regulated the pricing policies of Hydro Tasmania in its supply of raise contingency frequency control ancillary services (FCAS).
