Arsenal's prodigious talent Chido Obi-Martin is reportedly in negotiations with Bayern Munich, despite his previous assertions of a long-term commitment to the Gunners.

The 16-year-old Danish sensation has been causing a stir within the Arsenal youth ranks, delivering dazzling performances that have not gone unnoticed. The news of potential talks with the German giants will undoubtedly stun Arsenal supporters, especially given Obi-Martin's earlier declaration of contentment at the club.

Reflecting on his journey with Arsenal, Obi-Martin shared his admiration for manager Mikel Arteta's support: "He (Arteta) just praises me all the time and says nice things, so it's very nice." Furthermore, he expressed a desire to don the Arsenal jersey well into the future, stating: "Of course it makes me proud. I would like to stay at Arsenal for a long time."

Yet, according to The Academy Scoop, Bayern Munich seems to be swooping in amidst a stall in contract discussions between Arsenal and the young forward, with Borussia Dortmund also monitoring the situation closely.

While acknowledging that a leap to the first team next season might be premature, Obi-Martin seemed to remain optimistic about his prospects at Arsenal, noting: "Maybe I will have to play permanently at Under-21 from next season," and adding, "There aren't that many strikers in the squad so it will be a good opportunity for me. Arsenal is a club that gives young talents the opportunity to play."

Despite swirling rumours of a scholarship renewal rejection, Arsenal are reportedly doubling down on efforts to secure the future of their young starlet Obi-Martin in north London. Insiders claim that the Gunners' top brass are keen to tie down the prodigious talent with a new contract, with potential developments expected in the coming days.

The young ace has been making waves within Arsenal's youth ranks, having first grabbed international attention in November 2023 by scoring an astonishing 10 goals during Arsenal's 14-3 demolition of Liverpool in an Under-16 match. The spotlight shone on him again in April when he scored seven times in a single academy game as Arsenal thrashed Norwich City 9-0.

The prolific youngster netted an impressive 32 goals in just 18 Premier League 2 matches last season and has already tallied 10 goals in 14 appearances for Denmark's Under-17s. His standout performances have captured the attention of fans and former players alike, including ex-Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere, who lauded Obi-Martin's rapid ascent while commending the club's youth development.

"He's been exceptional. I've said it before but credit to everyone at the club and at Hale End for the work that they have done with him," Wilshere expressed in praise, speaking to the club's official website.

"He's adapted so well, helped the team massively at times. Also, credit to his teammates too because they serve him so well, and he's grateful for that."
