"You guys have it so easy, back in my day, we had to..." 👴🏼🙄 ...but for real, when I started in UX (not *that* long ago), it wasn't easy to build a functional, interactive, smooooooth prototype. It took more resourcefulness, more time, more tools, more duct tape. I learned front end code to prototype basic sites and apps. I remember making animations in Keynote - and being pretty stoked about them. I'm definitely not reminiscing on these as the "good ole' days" - but I think I have an appreciation for how far things have come. No Code, Low Code, and prototyping tools are infinitely better now. As designers, we can create amazing, dynamic, interactive experiences - fast. Prototyping is by far my favorite area of UX design. It was my specialty as a freelancer, and I got hired to do it a lot. I love making stuff that moves and works, and I love teaching it - especially seeing designer's faces when it clicks that you can take any idea, animation, interaction....and actually build it. I put it all into our upcoming class, Next Level UI Prototyping & Animation. We've got two cohorts coming up, and they're open for applications! Our last cohort in February was so much fun, and student projects on demo day were outstanding. If you want to build some in-demand skills, create a sweet new project, and level up your UX/UI career, join us!
