GMA Design Group recently celebrated the groundbreaking of a cold storage facility expansion in collaboration with ARCO National Construction Company for Weeks Food Corp., a fifth-generation, family-owned and operated wholesale food distributor. The expansion will add 21,515 SF of temperature-controlled space to the company’s current meat distribution facility in Richmond, Michigan. The project will enhance the company’s next-day service of top-quality beef, pork, poultry, seafood, and additional frozen food products while also supplying fresh chicken to KFC and Popeye’s locations across Michigan and Northern Ohio. Once complete, the expansion will include a 10,231 SF 34°F-36°F cooler, 6,232 SF 36°F cold dock, and 4,795 SF -10°F freezer. GMA Design Group recently partnered with ARCO Beverage Group to complete a new 350,439 SF state-of-the-art beverage distributorship for Frank B. Fuhrer Wholesale Co. in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Having nearly doubled the leading beer distributor’s presence in the local market, the project was awarded the 2024 CoStar Group Impact Award for Pittsburgh Commercial Development of the Year, recognizing its significant contribution to the region.   Facility features include a 211,647 SF controlled-environment warehouse, a 29,783 SF draught cooler, a 21,833 SF ambient warehouse, a 14,356 SF POS area, an 8,680 SF truck maintenance building, and a 28,666 SF office. The workplace design showcases custom millwork, tile flooring, decorative lighting, and a fitness center designed to enhance employee wellness. Take a look at this nearly 500,000 SF build-to-suit production and distribution center GMA Design Group completed in collaboration with ARCO National Construction Company for Stonemont Financial Group and end-user MJB Wood Group. Located in Bristol, Indiana, the project doubled the company's service capabilities across the Midwest. The facility features 489,600 SF of distribution and manufacturing space, an exterior and interior rail spur, tilt-up construction, 32' clear height, and a 10,000 SF office design. The workplace design prioritizes employee comfort, well-being, and productivity by including elements such as wood paneling, natural light, and nature-inspired materials, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. This state-of-the-art facility provides distribution space for the end-users' nearby manufacturing operations. Facility features include 34,678 SF of 0°F freezer space, 20,969 SF of 35°F cooler space, a 19,256 SF dry dock, a 6,149 SF cold dock, a 3,420 SF office, 57 dock positions, 32’ clear height, and a CO2 refrigeration system. We are excited to announce that GMA Design Group has partnered with ARCO National Construction Company to complete a state-of-the-art cold storage facility for Cypress Cold Storage in Springdale, Arkansas. The 207,285 SF state-of-the-art facility with advanced refrigeration and freezing technology showcases GMA’s extensive cold storage experience and expertise. Facility features include over 170,000 SF of temperature-controlled space, equipped with 252 Tippman QFM quick freeze blast modules and multiple convertible freezers capable of accommodating a range of temperature requirements from -5°F to 28°F. The freezer space has a clear height of 34’6” and includes max density racking, allowing for more than 22,000 pallet positions. Additionally, the facility houses an 8,450 SF office, designed with clean aesthetics, blue tones, and wood accents to create a warm atmosphere. GMA Design Group recently partnered with ARCO National Construction Company to complete a 153,000 SF hazardous storage facility for MilliporeSigma in Allentown, Pennsylvania, bringing needed life science storage to the Lehigh Valley region. The facility features 17 specialty storage spaces with H2, H3, and H4 classifications and cooler space for critical pharmaceutical, vaccine manufacturing, and R&D products. Additional features include 35’ clear height, 15 dock positions, a 6,200 SF office, and load-bearing tilt-up construction. GMA Design Group recently partnered with ARCO Beverage Group to break ground on a 69,604 SF beverage distribution facility expansion for Beverage South Distributors in West Columbia, South Carolina! The GMA team is providing architectural and interior design services for the project. The facility will feature a 43,751 SF warehouse expansion, 8,299 SF dunnage canopy addition, 4,065 SF draught cooler expansion, 3,161 SF employee lounge alteration, and a 2,670 SF office renovation. The employee lounge will showcase the Beverage South brand from floor to ceiling with tile flooring, a custom bar featuring quartz counter tops and wood accents, custom lighting fixtures, and a meeting room with drop down projector screens.
