"There can be no sustainability in the HIV response without equity," says MSH Fellow Dr. A.K. The USAID Medicines, Technologies, and Pharmaceutical Services (MTaPS) Program, led by MSH, proudly marked the conclusion of its successful six-year partnership with USAID and the Government of #Tanzania — a collaboration that has made a lasting impact, strengthening #pharmaceutical #regulatorysystems, enhancing #pharmacovigilance, and saving lives through better medicine prescribing practices and infection prevention measures in hospitals and health facilities nationwide. MSH is proud to announce that we will be extending our #antenatalcare efforts in #Guatemala under the Healthy Mothers and Babies Project—locally known as Utz’ Na’n—supporting the Ministry of Public Health and Social Assistance in enhancing #maternal, #newborn, and #childhealth among indigenous families in the Departments of Quetzaltenango and San Marcos. Over the next three years, we will build on Utz’ Na’n’s success by strengthening the capacity of traditional midwives to deliver quality, culturally relevant #antenatal and #postnatal care, ensuring families have the essential support their children need during the critical first 1,000 days of life. We also want to celebrate the dedication and resilience of our Ukrainian colleagues working on the MSH-led, USAID-funded SAFEMed Activity to ensure safe, affordable, and effective medicines for all Ukrainians despite the ongoing war. SAFEMed has supported the Ukrainian government in expanding the Affordable Medicines Program (AMP) to cover more than 400 medicines and include access for medical devices such as blood glucose test strips. The program has now helped almost 5 million patients receive the essential medicines they need.. Let’s continue to #StandWithUkraine as it builds a future filled with hope and opportunity.
