Pike Place Chowder in Seattle is a seafood lover's paradise. I tried both the hot and cold lobster rolls and the crab roll, and each was outstanding. The cold lobster roll was refreshing and light, while the hot lobster roll was rich and buttery and both packed with tender, fresh lobster. My wife ordered the crab roll and it was good too.

A major plus is their QR code option to order ahead and skip the long lines, which made my visit even better. Located in the heart of Pike Place Market, it's the perfect spot to enjoy top-tier seafood while soaking in the Seattle atmosphere.

If you're in Seattle, don't miss Pike Place Chowder whether you're craving chowder or their amazing rolls, you won't be disappointed. And definitely use the QR code to save time! We will be back for sure.

I'd stick to their chowder over anything else. Their chowder has a good mix of spices and the consistency is just right - not so watery nor thick. Their sourdough bread is so fresh with a fluffy but also very chewy texture. I enjoyed their sourdough bread bowl over anything else I've had here. If you want to try multiple flavors, it's probably better to get a small or medium size of each.

I tried their Maine Lobster too, which was $35 for a quarter pound, but don't recommend it. I was pretty disappointed. Maybe it's because I've had Maine lobster in Maine, but I found Pike Place's to be really bland.

Despite there being a line, we didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes on a busy weekend. It's nice that they have staff helping you get a table, but you could get seated at a bad spot. We're a group of two and we got seated at a table with no shade so we had to eat under the sun during the middle of the day when the sun is the strongest. I saw the staff asking people to leave when they looked like they were done. I felt rushed to finish my food and felt like I couldn't really savor the taste because I needed to leave quickly (it also didn't help that we were sitting under the sun).

The chowder was amazing. We did the "choose 4 sampler". They gave us as much sourdough bread as we wanted, which was also delicious.

On a Saturday evening around 3:15pm there was a line. Bite it moved quickly. We did have to wait for a table. But the employees did an amazing job at getting people seated as quickly as possible.

If you are in Seattle this is a must try if you like chowders. We tried the "New England Clam Chowder", "Crab, Oyster and Chorizo Chowder", "Seafood Bisque" and the "Seared Scallop Chowder"

      Pike Place Chowder

I visited Pike Place Chowder last year and was blown away by their award-winning chowders, so I had to stop by again during my stay. The line was long, but it was worth it. Since I was on my own this time, I got the large New England chowder (12.99), which came with a couple of bags of crackers and a sourdough roll. It was very filling and extremely tasty. Considering how popular they are, their prices are very reasonable.

I'll definitely stop by every time I'm in Seattle.

I had their 4 samplers and the one i enjoyed the most was their famous New England Clam Chowder. I finished that thing in a heart beat. There's also something about their orange Fanta because it's crispy like McDonald's fountain drinks. The Manhattan chowder was good too. It's a herb-infused tomato broth that would have tasted better during colder weather, but it was around 88 degrees when I came in at 3pm.

Since this one of the touristy spots of Seattle, the area was packed and seating is limited. I got to chat with other tourists with shared tables and met some cool people at my time here at Pike. When I come back, I need to try their Maine-style lobster roll everyone is talking about!

What is a Seattle trip without visiting the infamous pike place market? First on my stop was pike place chowder. I was most excited to try this place. They are deep inside an alleyway but you can find them easily with their long lines. The lines move very fast, but it may be hard to find a spot to sit at.

They are known for their clam chowder, but I decided to try their seared scallop chowder instead. Boy was I glad I went with this. The scallop chowder is next level! It's so creamy and delicate, and tastes soo smooth too. They give you two pieces of bread and some crackers to dip in. The bread soaks up the chowder and carries over the rich flavor. I also added a Tabasco packet for a little kick. This chowder definitely lived up to the hype

I recently took some friends who were visiting Seattle to the iconic Pike Place Chowder, a must-visit spot in the city. Even though it was a Sunday afternoon, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the line was relatively short. We quickly made our way to the front, ordered our chowder, and were lucky enough to snag a table in one of the designated seating areas. Everything at Pike Place Chowder is self-serve. You order from the counter, pick up your food immediately, take it to your table, and then bus your table.
To make sure we got the full experience, we decided to sample all of their award-winning chowders. Each one lived up to its reputation, but the standout for me was definitely the New England clam chowder. Its rich, creamy texture and the tender chunks of clam made it an instant favorite. The scallop chowder was a close second with its delicate flavor and the chunks of scallop. That said, every chowder we tried was excellent in its own way, and I found myself happily hopping between bowls, savoring each. It's definitely clear why these chowders have won awards! Whether you're a local or just visiting, this place is a true gem in Seattle's culinary scene, offering a taste of the Pacific Northwest.

It's impossible to talk about must-eat places in Seattle without mentioning Pike Place Chowder! It might seem and sound like another run-of-the-mill tourist trap chowder place, but their award-winning chowder is so delicious!!

Located in Pike Place Market (of course), this joint can get awfully busy with customers and the interior is relatively small and claustrophobia-inducing with limited tables. There are some tables outside, but each time we've been here we've had to wait around for a table to free up or take our chowder to-go.

On our most recent visit we ordered the New England Clam Chowder + a 4-cup chowder sampler of Crab, Oyster, & Chorizo, Seafood Bisque, Smoked Salmon, and Seared Scallop chowders:

New England Clam Chowder (5/5): With the perfect consistency and viscosity in the thick white cream, this one tickles your tastebuds with hints of smoky bacon and herbal seasonings. The clams are fresh, bouncy, and not fishy. Taking a bite after adding a dash of Tabasco makes me jolt my head back and moan with euphoria!

Crab, Oyster, & Chorizo Chowder (4/5): This one has the heartiness and smokiness of chorizo intimately intertwined with the ocean flavors of the crab and oysters. Amount of crab meat was a bit lacking, however.

Seafood Bisque Chowder (4/5): This one has too prominent an herby flavor for my liking, but you do get a generous variety and amount of seafood in cod, salmon, and shrimp.

Smoked Salmon Chowder (5/5): This one tastes like eating an extravagant smoked salmon lox and cream cheese bagel but in chowder form! The capers add a nice salty and briny burst in each bite.

Seared Scallop Chowder (5/5): This one is loaded with tender scallops in each bite! The scallops are seared which adds that extra dimension of savory and charred notes, and the dill and lime juice finish it off with the perfect touch.

As good as the chowder is, a lady who was seated next to us fished out a long hair in her chowder. This kind of made us lose our appetite a bit, and after taking a closer look at the cleanliness of the kitchen we can't say we were that surprised...

This spot is very touristy but i was impressed by the clam chowder. I tried the seafood bisque and the flavor was so yummy. I felt it had an amazing texture and i liked how local the soup ingredients were. It's a lil tough eating a lot of it though its a lil salty but if you have the sourdough it pairs well.
The lobster roll was also amazing but a lil overpriced. I would have expected more lobster claw meat.
Overall if you're craving chowder and lobster this is the place.

      -Clam Chowder Bread bowl [4/5]
      __

Pike Place Chowder is a must-try in Seattle, so I made sure to stop by. The line wasn't too long when I visited and moved quickly. We opted for the clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl. After receiving our order, seating was a bit chaotic with another line to get seated, which wasn't ideal, but we managed to find a spot.

The ambiance was pleasant, with open window seating and outdoor options. The clam chowder itself was delicious, no complaints there. However, the bread bowl was a disappointment. It was dry and quite hard, detracting from the overall experience. It seemed pre-made hours in advance and not freshly warmed, crispy, or soft. If I go back, I'll definitely stick to ordering the clam chowder in a cup instead.
