    Johnny Depp’s lawyer Camille Vasquez promoted to partner by firm after success in defamation case

    On June 1, Hollywood star Johhny Depp won his defamation case against actress and former wife Amber Heard. The actress lost most of her countersuit.
    The celebrity trial captivated the world with numerous back and forths and both Depp and Heard accused each other of domestic abuse.

    Depp was represented by Camille Vasquez who contested Heard’s claims of domestic abuse on the final day of the testimony. After the long gruelling trial, now it seems it is not only Depp who is smiling, but his lawyer Vasquez too is beaming.

    After the success in the Depp-Heard case, Vasquez has been reportedly promoted to the stature of a partner at her firm – Brown Rudnick. Vasquez played a pivotal role in Depp’s legal team during the defamation trial against Heard.

    In a press release, Brown Rudnick announced that Camille Vasquez has been elevated to the role of partner in the firm. “We are delighted to welcome Camille to the partnership,” said William Baldiga, chairman and CEO of Brown Rudnick.

    Vasquez who graduated from Southwestern Law School in 2010 received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California in 2006. The young attorney joined Brown Rudnick’s Orange County office as an associate in 2018. She has been serving in the Litigation and Arbitration practice.

    Vasquez has over 10 years of experience as a trial lawyer, especially in high-stakes disputes and defamation cases.

    The CEO said that although they reserve such announcements for the end of the fiscal year, Camille’s performance during the Johnny Depp trial proved that she was ready to take the next step.

    “Historically, we have reserved this announcement for the end of our fiscal year. But Camille’s performance during the Johnny Depp trial proved to the world that she was ready to take this next step now. We are incredibly proud of her and look forward to what she will accomplish as our newest partner,” said the CEO.
