    'Nikhil & I were among worst performers in school, but we turned out alright.' Zerodha founder ​​Nithin Kamath says college scores do not matter eventually

    Zerodha chief Nithin Kamath on Tuesday went into flashback mode, taking a moment to reflect on how life has turned out for him, and his sibling Nikhil.

    Nithin Kamath on Tuesday went into flashback mode, taking a moment to reflect on how life has turned out for him, and his sibling Nikhil. In his post, he also emphasised that supportive parents matter more than prestigious school or college degrees.

    The Zerodha founder & CEO took to social media on Tuesday to flag awareness about dyslexia in children. In a post on Twitter and LinkedIn, the 44-year-old Kamath urged parents to become aware of the condition of dyslexia in children.

    "Anywhere between 5-20% of children have dyslexia, according to various estimates. October is National Dyslexia Awareness Month, and parents must be at least aware of Dyslexia," the Bengaluru-born Kamath wrote.
    Giving a shout-out to the Kamath Seniors, he said that it was the support of his parents that helped him and his brother Nikhil to excel in life even though "both Nikhil Kamath and I were among the worst performers in school, but we turned out alright in life. The key was the support of our parents in everything that we attempted."

    "Eventually, your school and college scores are not all that matter. The understanding and support of parents is even more important, especially if kids have learning difficulties. Thanks, Arun from DLearners for nudging me to share this," he wrote in his post.

    The Kamath brothers founded Zerodha in 2010, which revolutionised zero-cost equity investing. Earlier this week, the duo featured in the Hurun India rich list of 2023. Nithin and Nikhil were ranked 42 and 81, respectively, with net worth of Rs 35,300 crore and Rs 23,100 crore.

    After completing his schooling, Kamath earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Bangalore Institute of Technology. He started his career as a trader in the early 2000s and eventually went on to start Zerodha along with his younger brother Nikhil.
