The T20 World Cup was a milestone for cricket's global ambitions
With the decision to increase the size of the tournament to 20 teams and to play part of the group stage in the USA, the International Cricket Council (ICC) saw this World Cup as a vehicle for expansion of the sport's popularity. More teams from emerging cricket nations were given a chance to perform on the global stage and Americans were offered the opportunity to engage with a sport far from their mainstream.

The ICC men's T20 World Cup 2022 Final will be hosted under lights at the MCG on November 13, 2022. The semi-finals will be hosted at the Sydney Cricket Ground and Adelaide Oval on November 9 and 10 respectively.

ICC announces rescheduled qualification path to 2022 U-19 World Cup
India, Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies and Zimbabwe have already qualified for the event, to be held in the West Indies in early 2022, by virtue of their top 11 finish in the 2020 edition.
