    Indian Railways conducted a successful trial run on the Chenab Rail Bridge, the world’s highest railway bridge, connecting Sangaldan in Ramban district to Reasi. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw confirmed the progress. The USBRL project is nearing completion, with a full inspection scheduled for late June. The inaugural train service is expected to start on June 30.

The 1,315-meter Chenab Rail Bridge, is crucial for connecting the Kashmir Valley to the Indian Railway network. It has been constructed 109 feet above the Chenab river.

    Chennai's Integral Coach Factory (ICF), a unit of Indian Railways, is readying the sleeper variant Vande Bharat trains. These trains will be put into service for long-distance overnight journeys soon after the next government takes charge, the officials said. The Vande Bharat trains currently being used have only chair seating, limiting their use to daytime routes which are covered in a few hours. The sleeper variants will bring offer more comfort for passengers undertaking longer journeys.
