POCSO case: Karnataka HC stays arrest of BJP leader Yediyurappa
The Karnataka High Court has stayed the arrest of veteran BJP leader BS Yediyurappa in a case under the Protection of Children against Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012. The case stems from an FIR filed by the Bengaluru Police against Yediyurappa on March 15 under the law. The case was transferred to the Central Investigation Division (CID). The court questioned the need to arrest Yediyurappa, citing his evasion of a notice to appear before the investigation officer (IO) on June 17.
