Dhaksha Unmanned Systems wins order from Army for supply of 200 drones, accessories
Agri solutions provider Coromandel International's subsidiary and drone manufacturer Dhaksha Unmanned Systems on Monday announced it has secured a supply order for 200 medium-altitude logistics drones and accessories from the Indian Army. This order comes on the back of a recent contract for the supply of 400 agri-spraying drones from IFFCO, Dhaksha Unmanned Systems (DUS) said in a statement.

Indian cooperative IFFCO is launching a national campaign to promote the use of nano fertilisers, with plans to procure 2,500 agri-drones and train 5,000 rural entrepreneurs. The drones will be used to spray IFFCO's nano urea and nano di-ammonium phosphate products. The cooperative will also purchase 2,500 electric three-wheelers to transport the drones to farmers' fields. The campaign will also train rural entrepreneurs to use the drones for spraying nano fertilisers.

The combined annual sales turnover of the shortlisted companies has increased from Rs 88 crore in FY 2020-21 to Rs 319 crore (unaudited) in FY 2021-22. The eligibility criteria for the PLI scheme for drones and drone components include an annual sales turnover of Rs 2 crore for drone companies and Rs 50 lakh for drone components manufacturers; and value addition of over 40 per cent of sales turnover.
