Zomato's hyperlocal goods delivery service 'Xtream' was rolled out in nearly all the 750-800 cities where the company offers food delivery. Zomato has also removed the Xtream app from Google Play Store as well. The online food delivery giant has more than 300,000 delivery executives nationwide.

The platform fee, which is a per-order flat charge, has been hiked in Zomato's main markets like National Capital Region, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Lucknow. Sources said Zomato services 2.0-2.2 million orders per day, and a Re 1 increase for a large order base could add substantially to the company’s earnings over a quarter.

The report also highlights Maharashtra and Goa as top performers in bus occupancy, while metros contributed 33% to bus bookings, indicating a growing importance of tier-II and tier-III cities.
RCF aims to roll out first prototype of Vande Metro coach by April, says its general manager
The Rail Coach Factory (RCF) in Punjab is set to release the first prototype of the Vande Metro coach for intercity travel by April 2021. The train, designed on the concept of India's first indigenous semi-high-speed train Vande Bharat, will cater to intercity passengers covering up to 250 km. Each coach will have 16 air-conditioned coaches and can run at a maximum speed of 130 km per hour.

The order of 550 buses is an indication of the company's robust expansion plans going forward to become a pan-India operator, Vijayanand Travels said in the statement. "Vijayanand Travels has placed the largest order in India for 550 intercity buses from Volvo and Eicher. The approximate worth of the order is Rs 500 crore, which includes 500 units of Eicher Intercity 13.5m AC and non-AC sleeper coaches and 50 Volvo 9600 luxury sleeper coaches," it said.

"It will cover around 300-350 kilometer on a single depot charge of about six hours and with an opportunity charge of 30-40 minutes during the journey, it can travel next 150-200 kilometer, " VECV President for Bus Division Akash Passey told PTI. Delhi government to soon operate premium intercity buses
In its board meeting held recently, the DTC gave in-principal approval to running premium buses within Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR) and intercity operations, the statement said. The DTC had been planning to introduce high quality premium buses on longer routes for sometime. It has approved the running of battery or CNG-operated premium buses on NCR routes within 200 km, it said.
